Pay Pal WARNING!!! Last viewed: 52 minutes ago

I need to post this, recently I bought an item from a fellow drum (from another forum) He asked that I submit payment as a "gift" so he did not get charged a PP fee. so I did. Its been over a week, no tracking #, no communication, no response from my emails, and now his phone # is dis connected. so I went to request a cancellation on PP< and I get an automated message saying "You cannot request to cancell this transaction because it is not for goods or services but was a gift"

I smell a dead horse

thought I'd let others know about this, I tried to be a nice guy and this is what happens

From slingerland

In my opinion, this person needs to be contacted by email and if there is no response, they need to be outed. I know some people don't like it, but you should tell the people in the forum you did this transaction in what kind of dirt bag you are dealing with.

To me this is no different than stealing. Being dishonest as a seller and/or buyer disgusts me. I've heard many a story of people paying not getting product/takes forever/accidentally shipping wrong product and buyer not co-operating/product damaged, etc., etc. This, to me is, for lack of a better term, is a "bully factor" for people like this. This is how the make themselves feel adequate or better than others by stealing or being dishonest.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I personnaly think this whole "gifting" thing is lame. That is simply taking advantage of the system. PayPal offers a service and they should be compensated for it the same way any one of us would like to be compensated when we provide a service.

Since when should goods and services be free? Gee thanks Napster. Don't even get me started.

Thanks for sharing this caution. Sorry for your loss and hope something works out.

I get texts about an item for sale (not on eBay) and they say they'll pay an "X" amount of dollars more if I can ship it. They want my full name and address where to send a check first without giving me any info about who they are and where they want it shipped to. I just text back, it aint gonna happen.

I was burned this way by a member here too. This person have been discussed here and on DFO time and again. I won't do gifts anymore. Paypal is no help in that case.
