once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I haven't sold much I have not later regretted selling.

Aug 31 1960 Ludwig Downbeat 4x14 in Blue Sparkle... regret

1979 Rogers 22-12-13-14-15-16.. in Ebony. no regret

Ayotte Drumsmith 6x14 in Cranberry. Regret

Ayotte Custom 22-12-16 I paid 468.00 for these at two pawn shops with H&B Enduro cases. They were five years old. I played them for ten years and sold them for 850 during the worst of the recession. I still have the cases. ... some regret

Ayotte Custom 7x14 Maple piano black gloss snare, for the kit above. Actually THE snare that came with the kit above. Found it two years after I purchased the set in a Music Go Round. Paid 250.00. Sold it for 450.00 this past Sept. Some regret.

Gave away a dozen or so Acrolites in the past 15 years.

Had a set of 60s Stewarts in WMP. Paid 64.00 for the set, another 20 for a matching snare drum. Gave them to a kid about ten years ago. A couple years later, they were destroyed in a house fire. I have no regret for the gift.

A set of Rogers in silver metallic, Dayton BD 20-Big R 12, 16. I used this set for about six years, then gifted them to a kid for Christmas, I think that was 09. No regrets on the gift.

My first real set(other than a toy set),was a '1965 Bollero Ice blue Pearl 'wrap. We all wish we had that first set back from a time long ago,but i wanted to trade mine in on a set of 1967 Rogers Cleveland`s.In hindsight...i think i did the right thing as i still have those Rogers to this day,but my heart still longs to have these old 'Bolleros' back again...

I've sold a few, some regrets because I want to keep them all!

The Lemons were a rare find, sweet kit for sure.

Brass Rogers I sold to a collector here at the forum, maybe to low but glad it is in the right hands.

Sky Blue Pearl Big Beat, Big sound!

Green sparkle snare, I didn't know what I had and sold to low.

Yes, I am a flipper/keeper!

These are all filed in the "regret" box. There's more! The blue RB's just had so

much mojo to them. The Rogers was definitely a "players set", and probably the perfect gigging weapon for me. Adaptable, huge tone. Fast setup with good, not pretty but solid mounts. The Slingerlands were just awesome. I love aged WMP. and they were 24/13/16. I saw Buddy R alot as I was growing up, and there's that appeal. The red Ludwigs were pre-serial. Very clean and a killer bass drum that's still my gold standard. The oak verneered set sounded great, and looked really good. And the uniqueness of it was fun. Really light, the wood must weigh a lot less then wrap.
