From Rockiezz

I've sold a few, some regrets because I want to keep them all!Yes, I am a flipper/keeper!

Pretty well where I'm at. Had my hours cut at work, and needed to fill in the gap. *But*, I prefer to think of it as "catch and release"! This one was so clean, I'd like to have kept it. But, it's just another Ludwig, it only cost me $250, and it made the month's rent plus some. Sold to to a backline company in L.A. Delivered it on Thursday, it played the Hollywood Bowl that Sunday! Pic's not at the bowl, just a gig I tried it at. I always like to gig them at least once........

Beverley snare in Oyster Wine wrap. When I bought it it was covered in wood grain contact paper. Not great sounding, but one of the coolest wraps I had ever seen.

HY

here are my sets that i´ve sold!

The first pic is a Maxwin by Pearl, i restored it completly and got a cool price for it:-)

The second one is a mix between Tromsa and Premier! I made that set out of all the old parts i had at home. This one is a sale that i regret, because it had a huge sound:-(

3rd one is a Sonor, probably 1956, bought it in a very bad state but very cheap and also made good money out of it:-)...and it´s also a very nice kit to look at:-)

The next one is an old MIJ, don`t know wich.

The last one is a set with old Tromsa Shells and Pearl lugs. I wrapped that kit completly new. Was a cool projekt:-)

I sold that one to a localy very famous jazzdrummer in vienna. He was absolutly amazed by the open sound of the set. So everybodey got happy:-)

Sold some more ,but they were not vintage and more to make money for my vintage hobby...probably like a lot of you guys do:-)

regards

These are all filed in the "regret" box. There's more! The blue RB's just had so much mojo to them. The Rogers was definitely a "players set", and probably the perfect gigging weapon for me. Adaptable, huge tone. Fast setup with good, not pretty but solid mounts. The Slingerlands were just awesome. I love aged WMP. and they were 24/13/16. I saw Buddy R alot as I was growing up, and there's that appeal. The red Ludwigs were pre-serial. Very clean and a killer bass drum that's still my gold standard. The oak verneered set sounded great, and looked really good. And the uniqueness of it was fun. Really light, the wood must weigh a lot less then wrap.

Is that turquoise sparkle rogers an orig? So gorgeous

HY crash

it´s from STdrums in Germany, they don`t offer that one anymore. The name was grey charcoal or so! I have a wee bit left at home, for a 3 piece drumset, it might be enough!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I've had SO MANY kits, but I really miss my Slingerland 1975 80N Buddy Rich kit, in Sparkling Red Pearl! Wouldn't you know that it was the only year that Slingerland switched to a "confetti sparkle" and not a "glass glitter"! Still, my 80N was a stunner! I'm getting misty-eyed thinking about it! This 14x18 Slingerland bass drum in pink oyster pearl is the only drum I regret selling. It was immaculate and a great sounding drum, but I got tired of waiting around for matching orphans, the odds of a 14x14 in pink oyster coming up for sale is very slim. Wish I would have kept it though and used it with a small combo kit while I waited for toms to show themselves.
