Definitely a Cutie Pie. My niece would immediately start dancing when she heard music,or drums at that age. My Sister couldn't believe it when I my niece play my custom Eames kit.She now plays Violin and Piano and a little drums.

Kids for the most part like music and respond to it,to bad that is not nurtured or encouraged more.

Thanks for all the wonderfully nice replies and personal stories, guys. It sounds like we have a lot of proud dads here and that really is great! Also, I cant agree more with what many of you said - they grow up so fast! I can't believe how quickly my baby has turned into a little girl. Hoping that she falls in love with music, just like her dad.

Jeff C (JCCabinets) - dont hesitate to contact when your'e in Houston. There is a really great vintage music place called Rockin Robins that we can check out if you have some free time.

Thanks again fellas. What a great bunch we have here,

James

I taught mine how to play drums but she ended up with the trombone and is now first chair in jazz band, symphonic band and orchestra at St Ambros University. See, the bragging never stops. My other one ( in Houston) is wonderful amazing young lady also.

James, thanks for the invite, sounds fun!

Thank you!

I didn't teach my three daughters (my two and wife's one) how to play drums. None of them showed any interest, really... other than banging around on them when they felt like making some noise. In fact, for some time I didn't even own a drum set. (gasp)

However, I did introduce all three of them into the various uses of a good old hickory 2-B when they began dating.

Cool!

I have a niece, almost 2 yrs old. She loves my drums and when she hears me play, she dances and says "Uncle, boom!"

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter, I'm certain she will be a great drummer one day!

All children are special, but girls...hmm..maybe just a bit more ?? :)

Oh how I wish someone with money would revive the Slingerland brand and start making them in the good ol USA again.
