Happy birthday. Well, I have one child but also envy a good friend who had no children but is a piano and voice teacher. Her students and their parents bring her cards and gifts of thanks year after year. Former students often come back to visit and say how her teaching changed their lives, etc., etc. So you can have even more of a positive effect on kids without having one of yuor own :)

Happy Birthday Mikey!!Clapping Happy2
I'm in the same boat as you. At 58, I've never been married, but have helped quite a few kids over the years... whether with my drum skills or computer skills. It's been rewarding and I don't regret anything!
Mark,
I love that Maxwell rail consolette. Really does the trick :).
Oh and Happy Belated Birthday Mikey!....

Awesome pic, man...and a proud Papa you should be! I have a 9-month old daughter (my first child) and I've been putting her on my lap and playing drums (very quietly) with her for months now. She seems to like it and I hand her a stick every now and then to give the skins a whack or two. I'm even turning some MIJ toms into a micro kit for her (16x16 bass, 9x13 floor tom and 8x12 rack). You think giving it to her on her first birthday is a little early?!?
Thats awesome. Love it! My daughter is 2 1/2 now and also loves jammin on my round badge kits. I have been making video of it since she was much smaller...Might have to find a good one and youtube it as "worlds greatest drummer" to see how many hits it gets
You've got a beautiful daughter behind a beautiful kit, James. Enjoy every minute.
Here's my little girl sitting at my RBs a couple of years ago. She doesn't get behind the drums much anymore, but hand her a toy microphone and she'll serenade anyone within earshot with obscure Peter Gabriel tunes. I couldn't be more proud. :)
ElMoonlightDrummer and BerneseMtnDog - great pics! Thanks for sharing those. ElMoonlight, I think any one year old would love to have their own set of micro drums :). Sounds like a great birthday gift to me!
