Read the comments below on this ebay listing. There are those who can make you shake your head, and then there are those who can make you want to blow your head off.

I’m at a loss about this one

Well, it's not my head I want to blow off...

And, heck, I've actually got two similar drums (one I offered to you a day or two ago) I actually intend to list on eBay later today. And I was thinking around $39.99 + shipping for a starting bid...

Maybe I ought to expect much more? :)

One thing I should have mentioned -- at least this seller is willing to post information that is contrary to his thinking. Got to give him credit for that! I've sent some "FYI's" to sellers before concerning their mistaken descriptions, and usually get a "thank you" and then see them edit their listings... but I've also got some (fairly) nasty replies back, too!

Old = $ At least that what many people seem to assume. Pawn Stars and Storage Wars has flooded the market with amateurs trying to make a killing off of anything with dust on it. I don't think this guy is being intentionally dishonest, he actually believes he can get that much for that Campbell soup-can of a snare drum. Because, as he says, "It's old!"

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Speaking of Campbell's soup cans... Did anyone else (besides me) learn to play and practice rudiments on a Folger's Coffee can with one of their new (at that time) plastic lids? :)

That was in the mid 60s, for you that aren't quiet my age...

I've got 6 (I think) old metal snares like this that I'd take $269 for all of them if someone will pay shipping! LOL! It's unreal that people try to sell & talk about stuff they know nothing about!...actually the ones I have are in much better shape!

Those get listed for $20 on craigslist ALL THE TIME! But, none of them actually sell. So, we can rule out the possible simple error of having the decimal point in the wrong place...

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
