Speaking of Campbell's soup cans... Did anyone else (besides me) learn to play and practice rudiments on a Folger's Coffee can with one of their new (at that time) plastic lids? :)That was in the mid 60s, for you that aren't quiet my age...

Yes indeed Bill I was always after those coffee cans for drums. That and every cardboard box I could find. I had a red sparkle plastic snare drum from Sears with a little cheezy cymbal on a L arm of it I got for Christmas. That was my only "good" drum. Me and my best buddy used to bang the heck out of those cans and boxes. Good times!

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

I'm a nubie and I know it's a rip off. Got my Slingerland kit for $50 at a yard sale.

Holy smokes!! That looks like a vintage CB700 snare drum. One of the LEAST sought after drums on the market!! .... on a serious note, that's pretty bad....

Glenn, like many on here, we've got a LOT in common!

The guy is not newbie to ebay. He has 4900 listings. Most of the first 2 pages were car stuff. Maybe his drumming "friend" convinced him what to price to ask.

Yes, the infamous CB700 tin can... fine for every 5th grader's first drum. A few years ago, I bought a brand new one from Geektar Center for 29.99 in the box (clearance price because the cheap plastic muffler knob was broken off). I stripped off the strainer, snares, bottom head and rim, tightened up the batter head and used it as a timbale. Nice tinny resonance.
