Well, considering I was only going off of details, have little to no knowledge about Rogers other than they are the USA`s most bling drums,..I couldn`t just go from there. I had to double check,..That`s something worth doing as results that I not u found, seem to point to a strategy in the Rogers factory. None the less, the drilling for the cymbal holder happened after paint, the washer got painted and should not have even been on the drum,...leads me to believe this girl was popped late in her life.

Still, the question remains, Which hole was drilled first ?

Here`s a same era Holiday with no center hole on the cymbal mount, but, the tom mount drilled after paint, the badge tacks put on after paint, and the spur washer in the ring, not painted.

Seeing that you know next to nothing about Rogers brings us back to the beginning. And I don't think I care anymore. Not sure I cared that much anyway since it's not like whomever put the mount on drilled a hood ornament on it instead. It fits. No one knows who put it there. And you have a 2nd photo with the same crude cut hole. THAT to me is the smoking gun that it's possibly factory. If the mount fits, you must acquit. Which is apropos because too much time has passed. You do get a treat for pointing these little anomalies out. I think everyone else went to sleep 5 hours ago.

You mentioned you did something before regarding the base plates, Are the L arm and Tele plates the same ? Yes, would solve the both question.

Nope on the plates. Tele obviously has the hole; it also has the guide for the hex arm that extends a tad through the shell - hence the need for a certain size drill hole. The L-arm plate is more or less flush with the shell.

So, you do things accordingly and now I know a tad about Rogers.

What I meant about the plates, is, If you covered the drilling for the tele with a L arm, would the attachment screws line up ? (the hole is not centered)

Let`s strain the smoking gun theory,....

One is a L arm cymbal mount, the other is a tom mount. Both drillings are identical but reversed. no holes are ovaled.

We could be looking at some repair shop work with yours.
