I just met a fellow with a similar bop kit, though it was rewrapped and had some holes plugged badly. I had never seen a Round Badge 14x18 with rerings, that threw me and I assumed it was a special order.
The guy didn't know what he had. He had hired me for some unrelated restoration work, he was pretty pleased when I told him what his kit might be worth...

I'd be curious to know when they stopped using the 3-ply w/re-rings shell for the 18" BDs. It is thought by some that they were marching bass drum shells.
Answering my own question... "The switch from 3 to 6 ply started in around 1956, and took around 3 years to be totally phased out."
