I have three or four Speed King pedals that all work but they feel different. I know you can adjust the tension but I have never tried. What is the benefit of having them re-furbished? One has a pretty mean squeak to it. I have read some threads here about re-building them but I'm not sure I want to get into that. So last question, who is the member here that works on them?

Bill Fulton. He's doing one for me now. Can't wait!!! I *think* Mike Layton does them too but not sure if it's a hobby for him. Or of he does them for others also? Maybe he'll chime in too.
bfulton is the guy you want to talk to jeff. he is the one that did the sk i have and he does a great job. your pedal will be like new again.
Jeff I think it is I have 2 apart what a mess in there , that grease is not meant to last 50 years, pulling the pistons out that's tuff, but blow the end caps out and new grease, all brand new there sweet when restored...

Thank you. I have never read through the whole thread actually but have read some of it as it was being responded too. I has to be a good source if it is a sticky!
I've done a couple of them and not to take anything away from Bill (I've seen pics of his work and he does a great job) but it's pretty easy. If you want to remove the old paint just soak the pedal in lacquer thinner and it will wipe right off. Spray with rust-oleum hammered spray paint a very close match to the original finish and you end up with something that looks like this and plays great it's really worth the effort.
