I have a 10 by 14 New England White Tom I can sell.....no extra holes...

I know it,s not WMP.....but it is what it is.......

Well if I had my druthers I'd get a 14x14 dayton wmp but theyre so goddamn expensive!

And everyone is right it would make more sense if I had a 14x10 to have it on the cymbal stand rather than the snare stand, but if I could find an affordable 15x12 tenor that would be awesome.

All I know is Ive gone thru a half a dozen kits in the past decade and now that I got my Rogers wmp dayton/early fullerton (67-9) I'll never need another kit, sept maybe a backup to bash on.

I once had bunch of Rogers Fullerton drums, all in New England white:

Set 1: 14x22, 8x12, 10x14, 16x16

Set 2: 14x24, 12x15, 16x18

Orphan additions, 9x13, 12x15 tom that had extra holes already, so I converted to a floor tom.

As you can imagine, I had every possible configuration imaginable available to me.

Here's my comment: My 15" tom that I converted to a floor tom was really sweet! I used the 12" with it, and also sometimes added the 18" as well. If so if you can find a 15 tenor drum to add to your set, it would be an awesome floor tom (though I hate the idea of drilling, unless there's already extra holes.)

Also: Don't get rid of the 16"! You'll regret it some day.

Just a thought...you can buy a suspension mount system(though they're a bit pricey) for toms to be used as floor tom.... check these out.

The best bet to fill your niche would be to find a Rogers 14x16 they are the ultimate Rogers floor tom and they are cannons I have never owned one but i have played two of them and they are at the top of my want list...

Rogers made 10x14 and 12x15 parade drums, snares and tenors, all thru the 60's. A lot of them in wrapped finishes, you never know what you might find. I've used a 12x15 parade snare as a floor tom (in a cradle) and it was really sweet. Using a snare is fine, just take off the strainer and butt and you're good to go: the snare beds had no impact on tuning as far as I was concerned. Also, I restored a Rogers kit that had a factory 12x15" floor tom a couple years ago, and that ft was killer as well.

I'm not crazy about a 10x14" as a sub for a floor tom: not enough air volume inside, imho.

If you find a 12x15", I would not sell the 16": you will need it at resale time.

Hey wait a minute... if you're going to use a 12x15 parade snare as a FT, why remove the snares? Keep the snares disengaged with the throwoff to use it as a tom, but then switch on the snares to use it as a alternate side snare (or for really interesting fills with two different pitched snares). Opens up some possibilities. Has anyone tried this?

Can you please post a photo, and what price range would that be in?
