Matt M, have you ever had your Dyna-Sonic disassembled? The reason I ask, I bought a Dayton tag Powertone a few years ago and two of the lugs were badly deteriorated. The drum had never been apart, other than some chessy repairs to the two lugs. Internally, they were smoke blackened. The deterioration on the lugs appeared to be heat caused. But only two lugs, and nothing on the shell. There was smoke residue in the other lugs as well. Those lugs were not on a drum in February 67. But they were in the fire.

Comments to above string:
1. Ploughman - was there a fire somewhere in Rogers land?
2. All I can say about the sale of the WMP kit is, dawg-on-it.
3. My two COB Dynas are 9354, 7-line; 11908, 5-line. I gather these numbers could have been applied anywhere from '66 to '68. I'm am reasonably sure the 11908 drum is a 1967, based on a sales slip from September of that month.
4. Has someone concluded that the 7-line shells were produced for Rogers by Gretsch?
