From green glass drum

Mr. Cooper,Fantastic Set.There is a Rose Pearl Set with banjo post on DFO.Is that one yours too?I love the green.Question.Does any company currently make a wrap close to that lovely green.?Thanks

Thank you! As far as I know, no one is making accurate looking green pearl but I hear it may be produced in the near future. Andy Foote was taking photos of some of my sea green drums at the Chicago show this year. He said he wanted to produce a wrap that is identical.

Yes, the Rose Pearl set is also mine.

Nice looking stuff there Mark! Did the banjo have a connection with pawn stars, I remember something about a banjo that showed up on pawn stars once.

Thanks, Jeff!

Actually, the banjo that was on Pawn Stars was a Slingerland May Bell that was completely covered in sea green. Mine is quite different. It has a green pearl resonator (back side) and a green head stock. There is also a contrasting blue-green pearl that runs along the side and covers the fretboard. Here are some photos of the May Bell. Interestingly, the first May Bells were made by Liberty Musical Instrument Corp. That company was eventually by Slingerland around 1927, when Slingerland began using their drum and banjo making equipment.

You almost shipped me your WFL weird prototype pedal a while ago, but you're a lousy sales man. You told me it's not for a player! Ha, just kidding you were very acurate in describing it and I'd be the same. I'd want it to to the right owner. I collect pedals, but missed out on that one. I buy and sell vintage drums in Ireland and at this stage I probably know everybody on the island who's interested and I can count them on one hand, so not a lot of interest / knowledge about old drums. We got a lot of Premier here back in day being so close to England. Premier, Olympic, Carlton, Ajax, Beverly etc. We're more familiar with this sort of thing. Dang that Rogers guy for leaving. Although Rogers were made in various factories in US I always claim them as Irish. Those are some fine quality Irish drums. :)

Oops....Sorry about the pedal!

That's great that you have such interest in vintage USA drums. I guess there just wasnt enough exposure to brands like Ludwig and Slingerland in Ireland. Now, it's up to you to educate and spread the word about vintage drums throughout the island!

True, my Slingerland bop kit is wrapped in the reissue stuff from Precision. I like the way it looks but it can't hold a candle to the original on this kit!

Cooper, What do the lugs on the rack tom do for a tacked on head,...it don`t make sense. I see no hoop.

The top head is tacked to the hoop, which in turn is tightened by the lugs.

That just adds to the wow factor,.. I see the hoop now, smaller tacks. First time seeing that.

That snare is the bomb. The BD spurs,...The more I look at the trap kit, the more I want it. You got a sweet kit there.

When I saw the banjo tuning keys, I first thought Stella. I had an old Stella acoustic and that color of them hit me.

It`s just a long shot but the banjo got kinda that Stella neck shape at the top, they liked green and I can put a 20`s pearl finish on the neck and fret board.
