Anyone have a SINGLE set-o-matic tom holder lying around? I'm after just the holder (swivel posts and all) but I don't need the tom or bass mount brackets. PM me if you can help me out.
Set-O-Matic tom holder Last viewed: 1 hour ago
I sincerely wish you good luck. Those things are fairly expensive and frustrating to hunt down. I'm looking for a second one and am having a dickens of a time finding one affordable. If I come across one cheap, I'll pass on it and forward the info on to you.
In actuality, all I really need is the top swivel arm and its lower section.....the pieces that surround the ball. I'm planning on making a hybrid mount with a Gibraltar tom arm that has a ball mount top and 7/8" diameter downtube. I'm hoping to make something fit the set-o-matic tom mount on the tom and the Artist custom bass mount on the bass. This way I won't have to redrill the tom for a pearl-type tom mount to make the bass mount work for me.
I saw one with a damaged omni-ball on eBay recently. It was being sold for parts. You might want to search that one out.

Still looking...........as I said above, even if it is incomplete, I will comsider it as I really don't need the omni-ball/post, just the tom arm and lower portion that surrounds the ball.
Hey LD! mind sending me a link to a pic where it shows the part you're looking 4?. I have a whole bunch of Slingy stuff and I not sure what is what your looking for...

Here's a pic of the tom holder. I don't need the bracket for the bass drum, I don't need the bracket for the tom, I don't even need the downtube with the ball, just the casting with the tom arm tube and the casting below that that surrounds the bottom of the ball, held on by the two screws (need the screws too)
Just got finished searching ebay....there are THREE of the later double tom holders on there (the ones made up of two single tom holders mounted on a platform that also swivels on the post) and they are all going for $250 and up! AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE???!!!!????? I MEAN, ITS JUST A TOM HOLDER PEOPLE!!! THESE AREN'T THAT RARE ARE THEY??!!???:confused:
Someone PM'd me earlier in the week with a single tom holder (no brackets) and they told me they wanted $90 for it! I mean really, am I missing something here? Should I be stocking up on set-o-matic parts and resell them to make a killing on here? Rogers swiv-o-matic mounts don't even go for this much!!
What's the deal?
Starting to get to the point where I think I'm gonna plug the factory set-o-matic bracket's holes and redrill the shell for a generic pearl style mount just so I can mount this thing to the bass drum!
None of this makes any sense to me! I mean, you can buy a whole Slingerland kit relatively cheap (compared to a Ludwig or a Gretsch kit) right? So why is it when you need some small piece (not even the whole mounting arm!) people think its worth GOLD or something??
Ok, I'm done, but if someone can give me a straight, true answer and not just some snarky comment about it, I'd really appreciate it!
Off the Soap Box
As a Slingy guy, I wonder the same thing.... but that's just the way it is.
The single arms are fairly rare, and go for $60 to $100 depending on condition.
The doubles are not so scarce, and can go for a good bit less.
Those Super Set-O-Matics always go for stupid money..... thank goodness I'm not interested that much in Slingerland drums that new.
