Show me the Way ! Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Hey Guys,

I came across a local auction advertising a George Wag Snare and my spidey sense's started tingling. I had never heard of George Wag and figured it was probably George Way. Next this you know I came home with this ! A really cool duco George Way Studio model. Even came with the original stand and George Way Drum key. The drum looks super clean except for the strainer looks like it's been banged around a bit and the throw does not seem to operate. Either that or I haven't figured out how to work it yet. This is my 1st experience with these drums.

Anyway ...any help on the strainer would be great and any tips on the best way to clean one of these duco shells would be awesome.

Cheers !

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Nice drum and score. I paid $100 just for my GW key! Those GW strainers are the weak point on his drums. Before Camco took over he redesigned that strainer 4 times in 5 years! Yours looks like the 3rd version. If you can take the strainer off the drum and take detailed pics of the inside I might be able to guide you through getting that strainer back into working condition. Also give me the hole spacing as I may have a working one like yours so if nothing else we can just swap strainers.
