Hello, drumhack!Thank you for your post. My kit does look like it has been played a lot over the years. I bought it about 2 years ago to a jazz player from Poland, who bought it from a big band drummer in Germany. I’m from Portugal and Slingerland drums are very hard to find here. I was lucky to find this drum kit for sale, it sounds amazing! I’m not planning to sell my kit, I’m very happy with it, but I would like to restore its look, especially the wrapping, because the tears make it look sloppy and uncared-for. I would like to wrap it with the same vinyl finish (Blue Gloss Pearl), but I can’t find it anywhere. Do you happen to know where I can find it? Thank you! :)Have a great day!

I have very little real world experience in this vintage drum game. I have never bought a drum, never wrapped a drum, and never sold a drum. I inherited my kit. I have been a member here for a couple years and remember everything I read so I basically regurgitated some info to reply to your post. There are a couple wrap manufacturers out there, but I haven't a clue as to what they carry. You should start a thread asking about wrapping up your kit. Some of the guys will be able to put you onto something, for sure, or at least tell you that the color isn't available if it isn't. If you look at the restoration section, I am sure there are threads telling how to wrap a drum too, and they share some do's and dont's from learning the hard way.

Have a wonderful evening

Hi, Drumhack!

Thank you for your advice! I’ve started a thread in the Restoring Vintage Drums section (“1977-78 Slingerland”) and I’m already receiving tips from other users on where I could find the wrapping I’m looking for.

Have a wonderful day! flowers2
