Well, just to let you know the 10 lugger arrived here tues 11th, from USA..& I picked it up today 12th (thats only 5 days from Chicago), must be some sort of record.. Can't say too much more at present because I am totally awed by it's immaculate condition.. Looks like it just came off the production line. I am just sitting here looking at it,.. thinking " F*%@", what did I do to deserve you ?..

Must be the climate or something in US.. how does a 35 year old drum still come up looking like this??

One observation,,you just pick up one of these things & it seems that "quality everything", oozes straight out at you.

I'll take some pics on the weekend ,weather permitting, & see what you think..

In Awe

Cheers

Congratulations Longjohn, a super snare drum, that's for sure.

What do you think of its sound ?

I'm taking mine out for the first time to band practice tonight,... 'm all exited!

Regarding the condition, I had the same thoughts. Mine is slightly younger I suppose but how can chrome look that good after 30 years ?!

Stef,

I'm wanting to set it up on the kit , but its 10.45 pm here.. I don't want to wake the neighbours.. For tonight I'll just sit here looking at it..I've a band rehearsal on the weekend.. & the guys are all keen to hear it as well.

I think I do know how great it's going to sound.. I had one in the 70's that was stolen.. an 8 lugger same as yours.. Hope you have some fun. Tell us what your band members think of it.

Cheers

John

Understandable,... the neighbors wouldn't be impressed,...

My buddies are quite spoiled I guess, they're used to Ludwig Supraphonic 6.5" for the past 20+ years but I'm sure they gonna love this one.

I'll let you know.

The angle of the picture is probably a bit off but mine is top of the food chain like yours, COB, 10-lugger.

A happy ending,

A couple of my "rough ruffs", a few "Ozziediddles" and the naturalization was complete..

Cheers
