Slingerland Drum Set Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hello everyone!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I am looking to sell my set however, I have no idea what it is worth and I am told it was a collectors item when I had the heads redone. Attached are the pics. The snare is a pearl steel series. The remaining drums are Slingerland. The cymbals are a mix bag and aren't in good shape.

Welcome. Serial looks like 334xxx which would be late 70's. These look like 5-ply shells (no re-rings). Hardware looks era correct. Not exactly a collectors item but there are quite a few drums there. Sizes can make a difference. Are all the reso hoops missing? Wrap is not one of the most desirable. Check eBay "sold listings" for comparable drums for an idea on price. In general Slingerland values are lagging behind the other collectable US manufacturers. Good luck.

Thank you slingerfan! Yea all the hoops are missing w the exception of the kick drum hoop. It was that way when I bought them 15 years ago. I actually have more drums that go with it, just don't have stands. Also have all cases for transport. Would you have a ballpark price perhaps? Looked on eBay and saw everything from $500-1500. Not looking to make a big profit here, but I don't want to let it go for nothing...

Please list the sizes of all the included drums and someone here should be able to give you a ballpark price.

Sizes are as follows:

Snare - 14" x 4.5"

Toms from left to right:

8"x5"

10"x6"

12"x7"

13"x8.5"

14"x9.5"

Floor Tom 16"x15.5"

Kick drum 21"x14.5"

Note the depths are estimates as I didn't remove the heads.

You might do better by selling the cymbals and cymbal stands separate, and putting the drums themselves on ebay. people dont normally buy "everything" together and you can make more money selling cymbals individually

Previous advice is correct. Late 70's, 5 ply, and wrap color all point against a collector buyer. Missing reso rims point against a local buyer who usually want turnkey drums. Thus you are left with the fixer-flippers.

If this were my kit, I would list them locally for $400 semi-firm without the cymbals. You should get traffic, depending upon your local population density.

If C/L fails, and I were to list them on Ebay, I would put the drums to open at $400 and BIN @ $600.

Good luck

Shipping that would be crazy expensive. Sell locally on craigslist for $450.
