My eyes are not sure - is that a 5 ply bass?

Looks like a nice kit. I would ask for more pictures of the insides and badges. Then you'd find out more and exactly what they are. Maybe someone can tell. The bass looks ok to me. I think the 18" floor toms were 16" depth and they had 4 leg mounts. So you'd see 4 sets of holes somewhere if it was a converted tom. Also the badge looks like it's in the right spot (offset for the tom mount) as the floor toms had them more centered that I've seen. I'm no expert either by far. So I may be waaay off base. Cool sizes though and the stained finish is nice. My old 70's kit was the same color. I do miss them too!! Overall not a terrible deal but as some said the Europe market bears a bit more price wise. The dual bass spurs are kind of neat. My 24's had them like Ska was saying. :)

Well if you can play them and they sound incredible, then it's up to you. Just on reflection though no way. They must sound stupid to warrant that, otherwise all you got is a Slingerland kit which still struggles to fetch big on the euro market. Put it this way, my late 70's big R rogers kill my my 00's DW collectors for sonic beauty, but on the market couldn't even entertain £600. One of my 3 piece Ludwigs would leave them all behind.

Be careful. People are trying to cash in on the "Vintage" market. Keep on studying the culture. If a beauty really steps up and you must have it then do it. But remember, a £2000+ Dyna or not, the producer is still going to ask "do you have another one?"

I also have an opporutiy to get a 18/14/14/12 Slingerland kit from the 60s.

Are you experts here saying that the 18" bass drum is a rarity and could have only been special ordered? I cannot view these drums beforehand and don't want to pay for a converted floor tom. thanks.
