Well I saw a set of those go for 500 Au last year and their condition was nowhere as nice as yours... So you got a deal IMO..

Cheers

John

Those are nice!! Are they gold sparkle? I didn't see that as a available color in the guide. Unless it was a later or early choice?? Enjoy the new kit and that snare is a real sweetie too!! Nice grab for 2 fitty.

Hey FFR428! I don't know what that color is. Spanish gold or a fine goldish yellow sparkle? Either way it's not shown as one of the colors available here http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/slingerland_drum_sets/1992_slingerland_drumsets2.jpg, another confusing thing. Later models have dark painted interiors & Spirit on the badge from what I can figure out.

I still say it's a Musicyo kit. The spirit series had three ply shells with no rerings and were painted grey on the inside. Sorry long john…….but we

have to agree to disagree. LoLoLoLo

These are definitely 5 ply and unpainted. Anyone own either a Spirit or Musicyo kit here by any chance?

Hi Steve.. Not about to disagree... I actually thought they were one and the same thing?? The Spirit series were around for around 12 plus years.. The shells went through a few changes a long the way.. as well as different badges & manufacturers... So I'd best let funkypoodle decide what he has...

Cheers

John

Maybe this thread will help??

Cool John! we'll let funky poodle decide or we can carry on like a pair of old women no matter what the outcome is. (still say it's a Musicyo but)

All the best John.

Cheers Stevo.

To be honest, what I really have is an almost tunable MIT kit with great lugs. On the positive side,as predicted, the snare is a real keeper, even with the gawdawful zoomatic copy strainer. The thinness/depth of the steel shell coupled with the SS rims makes it crack, but with a nice bottom end when cranked up. She's going in the studio this week alongside an Acro, a Supra, COB Dyna and an 80's swingstar so maybe I'll do some soundbytes.

I sold the cymbals off for 100 bucks, so cost is now down to $150. All the stands are good quality and the kick pedal is one more funky one that I can add to my collection, so I wasn't a significant score, but not a real loss either.
