The no re rings on the shell, the no spurs, and and the grommet that doesn't go through the shell makes me pretty sure this was my old drum or one just like it. When these came out there were a bunch of these sets and shells in various states around. Some were wrapped tubes, some were 3 ply shells w/o re rings, some were complete drums with partial or no hardware. When Gretsch bought out Slingerland they had a finish for a short while that was called Tiger Stripe that was the same wrap.
My set looked and sounded great...I wouldn't be concerned if it was called "authentic."
I've attached a couple of shots of white tiger sets I've owned. The sets were both original...the 12 x 15 floor tom was a converted concert tom. The snare was one of the "newly found" wraps or shells made from a donor drum. It looks whiter than the original drums.
