I'm looking for just the adjustment knob from a Slingerland Zoomatic strainer - see pic. I'd really hate to buy a whole new throw off for it. I also need the hex nut that holds the throw off onto the shell. I have the threaded part that goes thru the shell, but need the nut that goes on that on the inside of the shell.

Knob mailed today
Thanks again Shawn! I'll let you know when it gets here and I get it going.
This is such a problem with these otherwise HQ strainers. I decided to sell the shellnut on Ebay (surprised I was able to) and am actually going to make another one and tap it to receive a knob/post from a muffler of an MIJ I decided to part out. That way it won't get lost (like so many of them Slinger Zooms do) and will look almost identical. Is it ideal? No, but neither is finding a blasted knob for a Zoom that will likely just fall off again.
No, I really don't care to go 100% original/authentic. It is for a snare that will be all Slingerland, except for the shell - is a 10 ply Maple I bought from Anderson Treading in Anaheim about 10 years ago. Need to re-wrap it (going for the BDP to go with the 68 Slinger 5 piece I have. I DO have a COB that goes with it, but wouldn't a 'Slingerland' matching snare look nice with it too!! The hardware IS off a mid 60s Aluminum Slinger. I used the strainer off that (a Rapid) for a 6.5" 10-lug COB that I wanted to make as original/authentic as possible before selling. The holes indicated that it was a Rapid that it originally came with. Got $170 for that....(get this) in cash right from the guys at the local GC. I could not fetch a 170 bid for it on Ebay after a week. It had scratches, but was in quite decent shape. I'll take $170 cash immediately all day long for drums like that....shocker that the 'best' way to go was the local GC.
I hope I am not confusing you all too much!
Gosh golly....way all over the road tonight in the area of topic!
Zoomatics....gotta love 'em.
When I was trying to find another hollow bolt ('shellnut'), I told a guy at the local bolt/screw company that they usually do for $25....he was speechless...had his wheels turnin' as he was sure it would be easy to make. Yeah, you can make those all day long, but the market (demand) is not there-for such an obscure snare part.
Zoomatics - easy to see why the MIJs copied it.

As far as the Knob/Threaded bolt go.. I've been lucky.. but after fitting a new rubber washer last week I can see how easy it would be to lose a pressure fitted knob.
In my memory bank.. I inserted the following notation.
Buy an internal muffler of appropriate diameter & re tap the thread to suit.
I'm sure it can be done easily..
Cheers
