Howdy -
Ha! I got the videocam working! I taped a practice session and grabbed a few clips so you guys could hear the 4-ply Mahogany kit that Jeff, (jccabinets) veneered for me. The drums were all 3-ply Ludwig mahogany shells from the 50's. Instead of re-wrapping them, I opted to hire Jeff to add a mahogany veneer and a professional finish. They not only came out great, they sound wonderful. These are very warm, FAT sounding drums. Not a heap of volume, but what they lack in volume, they make up for in warmth of tone.
I used the internal mics on the camera so that the sound, although not bad, is not really 'great' either. It is what it is. Apologies up-front for forcing you to listen to an old cat long past his prime. LOL
First clip: Jingle Sticks! I'm posting this one just for the Halibut. I have so much pure fun playing with this tambourine stick that I felt compelled to add a short clip. I hope it encourages some guys to experiment with them. Genuinely -FUN- stuff.

This is a clip with mallets... I think drums sound better tone-wise when you play them with mallets.

Sound File for the 7" x 14" Mahogany Radio King. I love this snare. I currently have it tuned slightly above mid-range. Love it!
