Wrong hoops, not sure about the rods. Springless lugs, also the lug screws look aftermarket and not original Rogers for those lugs. And the edges of the tag do like like it was painted inside.

I need to see the badge nails inside, the inside of the grommet and the wrap seam to check for a rewrap.

In any event, the drum has a lot of changes and is not worth $500.

Mark that seller. Pay attention to his name. I have no idea who this clown is, but he is not to be trusted by any measure.

I asked the seller a few questions about the drum and he made it clear that he is well aware of everything that has been replaced on the drum.

I second Ploughmans post.

This seller is underhanded in his listing and not to be trusted.

He has been around a long time. And he has sold Rogers items in the past. This is not ignorance at work here.

Ploughman,

You are so correct in distinguishing between the "ignorance" vs "deception" factor at work here. We shouldn't tolerate deliberate deception, but I can forgive genuine ignorance when sellers truly know little or nothing about the items they're listing, such as the seller of eBuy Item 201516384772 who truly believes he has Cleveland drums based solely upon the fake (or photocopied) Cleveland label pasted onto a speckled interior next to hex screws...

The seller is simply describing the drums as he sees them, and probably has no idea the previous owner relabeled (quite poorly) the Fullerton drums which he rewrapped (again poorly).

One like that.... is quite possibly .... real.

But it is not Cleveland. A few of these have surfaced. I do not know about this one. However, some speckled gray drums from the Dayton/Fullerton relocation did indeed get "odd" out of sequence tags. Some of them were Cleveland. But they are from the 69 move period.

Not saying that is the case with this particular drum. With the rewrap and all, impossible to know, unless someone has numbers recorded.

Ignorance is excusable. Deception is deplorable and ought not be tolerated.
