I love black diamond pearl, I have a kit myself, take a magnet to the rims see if it sticks to them in not the rims on the toms are brass.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Already did the magnet test and they are not COB,...which confused me but, someone along the way has really jacked with these, so they may have replaced the hoops,...none of the bottom hoops are on the kit either and the floor tom interior has been poorly painted black,...didn't even take the lug screws out or muffle etc,....they have some issues for sure,....did all 60's supers come with COB from the factory?,...or is this not a super?,...they are definitley 3ply w/rings though,....hmmm,...

That's a nice barn find. I hope that you got them at barn find bargain prices. Have fun rehabbing them.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Thanks vintagemore2000,...I'm still a little bumfuzzled though because by the serial number charts one of the toms is dated as 1965,....but, who knows what someone has done along the way,....what do you think about the floor tom interior being black,...leave it alone or refinish with Benjamin Moore N333 white,....need some input on this too,....thanks again!

I would see how it sounds first and then decide if you're keeping or selling and then decide how much work you want to put into them. The black paint isn't going to affect the sound from what I understand. Nothing like a barn find. It's a great feeling!

Best
