Simple the price is insane for a non original altered drum. this price is for a 100% original supra, and you are not getting one.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Ditto: In fact this is a great example of what not to do if you expect a return on your investment. At this point, the only interest I'd have in the drum would be the badge and rims. I'm sure the drum sounds wonderful, and frankly, the guy did do a great job on it, but expecting to get full retail as if it was unmolested? Not going to happen.

eBay description below, with pictures. He's asking $250.00:

Up for auction is a 14 x 5 mid 60's Ludwig Supra. This baby had been totally tricked out. Most of these have the chrome flaking off and really pitted. I had this one chemically stripped of chrome and then professionally polished out. Since these things are aluminum, they polish out really nice. The badge was reinstalled using the proper crimping tool and a genuine Ludwig vent grommet. It has all new parts including custom tube lugs, P-86 Millennium strainer, new tone control, brass tension rods, new triple flanged hoops and heads. You'll never have to worry about this one pitting or flaking! She has that great vintage Supra sound with the reliability of new parts.

i guess i'll have to go against the crowd on this one. i saw it last night when it was ending. i think it looks great. i love original non altered drums. but when youve got a peeling, flaking, blistered up supra, what he did was refreshing to me. i bet he's got a lot more than that in the drum. the polish of the shell looks great. the tube lugs and p86 class it up. i think the brass tension rods go well with the brass badge. i really like the drum.

seller has relisted it at 250 buy it now and free shipping. i'd be pulling the trigger on it had i not already bought a snare and a cymbal this week. i'm impressed with it. plus, some ludalloy 5" supras have sold for 400 plus.

That's a buddy of mine, he goes by latindrum on other forums and I can say this about him.............His work is nothing short of exceptional. He has done some edgework on a bass drum for me and some of the drums he's built from his own drum line, On The Edge Drums, are wonderful.

He's on even par with Drumjinx when it comes to restoration work IMO.

However good his work is, it is not a Supraphonic, it`s being advertised and sold as one !i Marketing ploys don`t get good PR.

If it was listed as a players drum made from a Ludalloy Supra shell, he`d get better compliments !i

Someone who don`t know will be fooled and suckered into claiming they have a rare Supra !i

Not cool any way you look at it !i

With eight billion Supras floating around, why bother putting that much money, time, and work on a drum like this, when a nice example can be had for about the same price? Not sure how the new parts are "more reliable" than the original parts. To each his own, though.

i'm not arguing here, i promise. but how is it not a supraphonic? am i missing something? if its not a supra, what is it?

if you take a stock chevelle, change the motor and add some mag wheels, its still a chevelle, right?

No Mike, it's not a Chevelle, it's a Chevy that was a Chevelle that has different parts in it.........probably those new parts are less reliable too!!!

I hate people that post misinformation on listings.......damn Sellers!
