Here is a pic of the shell when I got it.

Ludwig didn't have a plating problem. ;) There seems to be more pitting than chrome.

Where did you find this? At the bottom of a lake?

In a shed next to a Rogers kit and a nice set of Zildjian hollow logo pies. The stuff belonged to my sister's boyfriend's brother who has a back yard full of old cars and stuff. He remembered that somewhere back there were some drums and since he knew I played, he have them....if I could find them :)

Hey Bob,

That snare turned out great. I know Bill doesn't like seeing you do that, but I wouldn't hesitate to gig with that snare. It looks 100% better than that awful flaking snare.

Greg

btw, see you in Chicago.

I have no issue with it. He very clearly defined what it is. If I were to buy the drum (and I considered it) the reason I would have bought it is that it had a Supra shell and the customization was top notch. I knew it wasn't an off the shelf Supra and so did anyone reading the description. If someone cannot be bothered to read a description of an auction piece then they get what they get. Not a ploy in my book.

Everyone and their mom knows what was done, and said. No-one salvo`d him for anything but that very first sentence !i 60`s Supra,...sells !i

You didn`t think you were gonna get away with that first sentence did you ?

It`s not negative feedback material, but it will get some rounds your way !i

Oh I'm sure it ruffled a few feathers but what cracks me up are the number of messages I've received from guys asking how to do this. I've had at least 2 dozen guys asking for details or who did the work for me. I haven't responded to many. I figured I'll let them figure it out and they can upset guys off on their own...hahaha! I'm done with the old stuff :)

What cracks me up is, I get the three yr. old can see what he meant, but in reality,..it`s the three yr. old that can do what you did to the drum !i

It does look nice, I hope it sounded cool.

Just one Q, did you drill for that throw-off thingy ?

No extra holes, no boring out holes, it all bolted right up. It sounded great! Just like any of the other 60 all original Supra's that I've had. I couldn't tell any difference in the fact that it was de-chromed.

Hey Greg, sitting out this year for Chicago. Got too many gigs and doing some remodeling during that time. But I'll be there next year!
