Well.......after three weeks of waiting,.... the guy who I sold my drums to called me back and guess what......I DIDN'T HAVE MY PHONE WITH ME!!! I literally was out of the house for 15 minutes and missed his call.......I called him back and got his voice mail, left him a message, will try again tomorrow. Will keep you updated.

Hitchcock couldn't have scripted better suspense than this.

That's a really great story. If I were him I would sell them back to you (after you explained the story though). I hope you get them back. It doesn't make sense that he has them and doesn't play them. Hopefully he will be fair with you. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

Well.....the good thing was his message was good....he said it was great to hear from me and that it has been a long time. He did apologize for the delay in getting back with me, he had been on vacation with his family and he had been busy at work and forgot to call me last weekend......I will fill ya'll in tomorrow.

This whole episode could restore our faith in humanity!

Seriously, I hope you are re-united with your beloved kit...

Let's hope that the gentleman's wife whom you initially spoke with is empathetic toward you after hearing your story. Some wives have a way of "swaying" their husbands in their decision-making at times. Wishing you a happy ending!Yes Sir

Well.......here is the final chapter for now. Spoke with the guy who has my kit. We had a great conversation and he was understanding of the situation but he doesn't want to sell them right now. He did say if he ever does decide to get rid of them he will contact me first, he gave me his word. I am good with this, maybe the day will come and I will get them back, if not, life will go on.

I'd pick up another vintage kit and I'll bet that would ease the pain a bit, the spirit of your old set might manifest itself in them.

You know one thing I was thinking throughout this whole thread was that we never got to hear the other guy's feelings from him. He had them awhile and who knows what attachment he had for them.

To me there's a huge difference in the way drummers play, a huge difference from one cymbal to the next, but drums... not that much. You can tweak drums, change the heads, change the pillow in the kick drum, put some tape on the snare, you can do all kinds of stuff to them so for me I know what you mean about being attached to a particular set but I've yet to see an old set of Ludwigs, Slingerlands or Gretsch drums I couldn't make my own.

Well guys.....I have one more sub chapter to add in here......after speaking with my buddy he emailed me back and wanted to know if I wanted to buy back my cymbals. I had a nice set of 14" new beats, nice 60's Zildjian Ride, and a 16" & 18" Zildjian crash.......so I am thrilled! He is going to call me this weekend and we will work out the details....he is even going to send me back my Slingerland Yellow Jacket bass pedal. Just thought I would continue the saga. When I get this stuff back I will let you know and post some pics. Keep on Pl
