The one snare I should buy,... Last viewed: 1 second ago

Thanks for all the comments fellas.

Ryan & Slingalud, I thought about a replica but even doing that, wouldn't be easy and will never be cheap. Where on earth will I find a candidate for a decent price? I also have serious doubts about the color match. Those AC Camco's are notorious for their fading. I bet that even on this one, you would be amazed when you remove one of the lugs.

In my book, a 1300$ snare drum is never a no-brainer but I can say that I'm in contact with the seller and I'm working on it.

Keep the reactions coming, I need all the mental support that I can get,...;)

Can't blame a guy for a little shameless self promotion.. Cool Dude

Good luck on landing your dream snare, but I can't say that the chrome one looks bad with the kit. Very nice kit indeed!

That's what credit cards are for.

(The next bit is the justifications of a sick person who should stop buying vintage drums.)

First off consider the rarity of Camco drums, and then the color, PLUS the fact that its 40+ years old, IN ADDITION its in great condition fewer still, divided by the number of people who would be willing to part with it, of those people even fewer have the ability to sell it on eBay. Statistically you shouldn't even be able to find this one.

When you look at it like that. You have to buy it.

I like Drums...
1963 Ludwig Downbeat Champagne Sparkle
1964 Leedy (Slingerland) Blue n Silver Duco
1964 Ludwig Club Date Sparkling Silver Pearl
1966 Ludwig Super Classic Sparkling Silver Pearl
1968 Gretsch round badge modern jazz orange stain
1972 Slingerland 85N Pop outfit Light Blue Pearl
1976 Ludwig Vistalite clear
1981 Gretsch SSB Gran Prix Rosewood
1987 Yamaha Turbo Tour Custom Mellow Yellow
1991 Pearl Export Ferrari Red

Your wife/girlfriend would read; 'I need all the mental support that I can get,...' as... "I need a team of psychiatrists!"

lol

It -is- a big purchase, I fully understand where the nervousness is coming from.

Good luck, hope you score!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I admit that without seeing the snare in person and inspecting it I would be a little hesitant on this deal.

Well The reason I say it would be a no-brainer (For me anyway) is because it not only appears to be in great condition, the price is totally reasonable for how rare it is. If I had your set and saw this snare drum up for sale I would have bought it already! But that's just me...

Stedi,

Would not hesitate on this one....Euro to dollar exchange to boot. Such a ***el will not last long. Look at it as an investment as well as enjoyment. My two cents
