Nice job getting those! I was in line after you to go get them. As soon as I saw the ad I sent an email. I was just too late. Nice score! I thought those were 20,12,14.

I've figured there are several Vintage Fans with "hair-trigger" fingers in New England who continuously scan CL for scores, believe me I've missed many times. This time I got lucky! I felt a little bad for the seller who had absolutely no idea what they were selling. They are indeed 20, 14, 12. Missing some parts, but overall in decent shape considering they've been sitting in a shed for years. The finish is gorgeousl and I'm still pondering if I should keep them, unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse!

I don't scan cl as often as I should but try to look when I can. I really wouldn't feel to guilty as she could have just done a minimal amount of research to see that she had something potentially valuable. At least enough to know that she could have gotten at least $5-600 in the shape they were in.

I've seen people get crap for scoring a deal sometimes but I think that if the seller can't do minimal research then it's their own fault. Again, nice job!

Fantastic score! Congratulations. Gretsch just reintroduced a color very similar called Royal Red Oyster in the Brooklyn series. It'll give you an idea of what these beauties will look like when they're all shined up. Can't wait to see them.

I wonder if you can use that wrap to use in a replacement hoop for the one that was missing. Was the set really missing bottom hoops, the front bass drum hoop and all those t's and claws or were they just not pictured?

All the bottom hoops are missing. I contacted Gretsch about the possibilty of a special order! There is a guy on the Forum who has the correct, matching bass drum hoop!

Thanks for the kind words! Your kit is fabulous (as is the double bass in the background). The finish is quickly becoming my new favorite!

Welcome to the club!!

RWP is my fave Gretsch finish..and it is rare, rare, rare..

There is another member on Cymbalholics that has the same set..and I think 1 person on Drumforum..

So there are just not that many around..

Consider yourself lucky my friend!

And the sound aint that bad either..:)
