I had a Brown Aztec kit once. The wrap is like a fabric or thick wall paper. I liked it.

It's interesting that you make this observation, as this type of pattern was typical of the 70's style and appeared on curtains, wallpaper, tablecloths, and unholstery (often in Avacado Green or Harvest Gold). Note that it doesn't resemble traditional Aztec folk art patterns at all. I think some fabric manufacturer got stuck with tons of this stock and convinced Slingerland it would be a popular "mod" drum finish. I hate it, but I love the fact that is screams "70's Pop". It would be perfect for an ABBA or Sonny & Cher cover band.
