untill the day I made this recording the 12" was totally dead, as soon as I put it on the consolette it lost all of it's sustain. so I tuned it up a little higher than i usually like played on it a bit and backed the tension off less than half a turn, and bam! sounded great, I usally try to pre stretch my heads (especially remo) when I install them but it didd'nt seem to work in this case untill that day when it was pretty hot outside.

The kit is beautiful and your drumming is great! My first drum was a Leedy snare from the fifties. It originally belonged to my dad. Man, I wish I still had it.

Very nice kit and nice to hear a good quality recording of them, you can actually hear what they sound like. And you play like a pro!

Would you believe it was recorded using an iPhone?

I can't believe how good it sounds either. As for the playing... Been playing since I was 7 and I'm 34 now, but I've been playing a lot of bass guitar the last five years so my drumming has suffered. But thank you just the same.

The singer in my band used his iPhone to record some songs during rehearsal one night. It came out real nice, so we came back another day and recorded all of our originals to go back and listen and change things we didn't like. We've also handed out a few CDs from that to use as demos to get gigs. :p

I had the same issue with my green kit. Like you, I tuned the rack tom higher and it worked OK. I realized that there was no felt gasket between the diamond plate mount and the shell, so I doubled up a felt sheet and that did the trick. You aren't missing that felt gasket, are you?

I had to check to make sure, it's there but hardly doing its job. I'll try the felt doubled up.

Thanks!
