I started this thread from one of Glenn's post on the radio king post..actually the prices have come down due this Internet thing,
we've discussed this a many a time here.
Blair here on this forum and I are old NSMDERS not so modern drummer, started by our bud John Aldridge, the original magazine wasn't a magazine at all it was a newspaper. in the back it had the white pages which where classified ads, it had your phone number as the contact info and we called one another established relationships, no pictures only written copy of the item, But by establishing these contacts and trust with each other to this very day are some of my best trading partners. from the white pages we would agree on a price shipping and then send a check through the mail, yes the good ole honor system, radio kings and other sold shell drums routinely sold for $800.00 to $2000.00. due to the Internet, more access to sources to buy and sale now than back in the day, is it good or bad??? your input please!!
