Those toy drums are very interesting and look incredible compared to the newer plastic ones I've seen. Those are excellent specimens and a unique path in collecting. Cool1
Vintage "Toy" snare drums Last viewed: 2 hours ago
Wow! That's a beauty! The hoops and those "tacks" that hold the inlay strip in place are exactly like the hoops on my new little drum, too. The "strainer" system is the same, too. Mine must be a Ludwig, as well. Maybe there was a decal logo at one time that wore off or maybe there never was one. Thanks for sharing your photo!Clapping Happy2

There's one currently on e-Bay and looks pretty vintage too.
WOOW! that looks like a toy drum that someone did their own folk-art thing to. The carving is very nice! Thanks, Oli!

I've never picked up a toy snare. I did get a toy (or maybe just a cheap) bass drum a couple years ago off ebay. It was only like seven or eight bucks, and then about twenty five to ship, but it was just what I was looking for. I have a nich or cut out in the wall of my office. I put a light bulb in it (reversible, no holes drilled) and use it for the lamp. Since I prefer dungeon lighting (dim rooms, like my wit) it works perfectly. The old hide head is fair on one side, the side you see, but nearly ripped away on the other side. The light is a nice mellow yellow-ish tan glow. Cheap room lamp for a cheap skate! I didn't really restore the drum, just polished it with some furniture oil after scrubbing off about a half pound of dust and grime. I didn't ever measure it, guess I should, someday, maybe the next time I get it down for dusting. It's around a 22 X 10. Great light, sets the tome of my room. Let's you know drums live here...
