I was able to snap a few more pictures of the snare drum this weekend. Someone told me this may be an important/valuable piece.

That`s the snare to have.....

It`s all there I think, no goods pic of the throw but the straps are there and it looks like one fastener on the damper is missing. You`ll need a buff wheel on the throw cage, it`s all rust now.

You`re get`n good advise and I hope you keep the kit together and not be convinced to part it out.

The vintage drum gods will haunt you.........

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I have had several offers. They highest I have is an offer for 1500, but they want me to pay shipping. Seems I am having no luck. Any suggestions on the best way to sell these?

Just be patient. No reason you should pay shipping. There are plenty of guys that will be glad to buy the set at your price and will pay their own shipping. Right now your hearing from guys that want to take advantage of you. Hang tight for awhile. It will pay off for you.

To be fair, is $1500 really a bad offer? (it wasn't me by the way). I bought my RK set from a this very forum for $900 and it wasn't like there was a queue of buyers. It didn't have the 16" FT but does have 26bd 12 tom and 14 tom and 14x7 snare in WMP. So the 16" tom with this kit is worth a fair bit. But it does need a full restoration (mine had been restored incl re-plating of some of the nickel hardware, good orig heads etc). Or am i missing something here? I'm not trying to run down this kit just don't want the seller to miss out on a fair offer

Here's mine as purchased BTW (price didn't incl shipping seeing as I'm all the way down here but the seller packed it beautifully for the long journey) https://www.flickr.com/photos/41363633@N00/sets/72157644212568346

Being patient is key but ya 1500 is a lot of money for something that was given to you.

Eventually, someone will want it bad enough that they will come and get it, it is a extremely cool kit, trust me! You just have to decide what price your comfortable with and stick to your guns.

I wish I could buy it!

Thank you!

Here is what I was able to find on the cymbals. The marking on the cymbal attached to the drum is pretty worn off. They clearer pictures are from the free standing cymbals.

I also took more photos of the extra shell. It is a bit taller than the snare drum and looks to be missing one of the rings.

That's a very nice kit Andrew.

The ring or hoop as its called is doubled up with the other one. They are together flange to flange in your pictures. So it's not missing just 2 on the other side for whatever reason.. I thought you would have sold those by now?
