By what I am seeing that timbales is hand crafted here in the states by someone trying to imitate the original Cuban timbales. Shell look well made and with gauge to the period of the 40's and 50's. But what give it away is the welding Timbales of that period did not come welded as these are the were what is called spot welded. Some one also put those cross bars to prevent metal from bending. The Cuban timbales did Not come with such. Tube Lug are from as early as the 30's but these were adopted to the drum. The original Cuban timbal here you have some photos so you can see what the person was trying to make. Also all Cuban timbales came in odd ball sizes 14 3/4 x 15 5/8 and very hard to mount any plastic head yet these have plastic . I would love to have it here to possibly manufacture original lugs and rims to give a look of original also remove parts not need. In these Photos you see the original of the period 30's and 40's and newer set made in 50's and 60's were Martin Cohen and many other companies copied from. 1st photo Original from the period note the placement of the lugs. They have holes drilled in correct place if Cuban made. the others are much newer and the new modern look seen today. If you look even the mounts on original are very thin and not what they are today. Also note Bottom lip very important this is what prevents drum from bending and no need for cross bar inside drums. Here you have photos that show the union of the drums not being welded and that the original way they were made in the 30-40's. You also can see spot weld on the drums a very enchant way of putting things together. By having the weld that says it early 50' or later that that was manufactured. To give you an idea of price is very difficult due to all the incorrect work done on the drums.
