I have a french bass pedal that is like none other i have ever seen. It has a pole that has hoop clamps on the bottom and then an adjustable clamp on the top that could clamp onto the top of a 28" hoop or any diameter less. the beater/pedal can slide up or down this pole to the desired height. It has dual spring adjustment kind of like a swiv-o that sticks up with adjustment facing up. any ideas how old this is and who made it? thanks for any help. I will try to take a photo soon.

ok here are a couple photos. it says made in france on the pedal if you can't read that.
It's a Jacques Capelle........made in a bicycle shop is my understanding...
Some one else will know more though I am sure..
I bought 2 of those at the Chicago show some years back...

Oh, of course, a Jacques Capelle!?? You, sir, have a ridiculous storehouse of knowledge when it comes to hardware!
Thanks mbira for sharing this oddity.

how much do they sell for?
also mine has a little bent metal clip on the top that is rusted and just barely fits over the hoop so I can't fit anything between the tighten screw and the hoop so the hoop won't get damaged. It looks almost like that part is not original do you have any photos of yours? Or does that sound the same as yours??
That`s alot to attach a pedal !!
Q, Do the feet on the RK floor tom really make a difference ? Been think`n about get`n them for my FT so tight tune don`t ring so much and I can stop useing rags !!

don't really know I have never tried the rk without them. but i love the sound of it!!
I think the beauty of this pedal is that you can position the beater anywhere on the head with a long or short strap. Plus it is unmovably stable and the action is quick.
I didn`t even notice how it slides. How does it compensate pedal rise when you lift it ?
