You got to stop hanging your drums on the wall, it`s a good thing my monitor rotates !!

I see now, Does the extra strap needed extend under the footboard on clips, or would you need to change out the strap ?

Never seen this thing before and learnning !!

Lord - I actually owned one of those. Also played Asba pedals and Orange hi-hat stand. Australia was a strange place to shop for drums in the 80's

Orange is Capelle, too. I think those pedals went under the name Orange, at one time n'est ce pas?

The Capelle pedals and hihats are brilliant. I see them kicking around in Quebec once in a while. Being an ex french colony, probably touring musicians from France were selling their gear to buy Speedkings back in the day because I don't think Capelle had distribution over here. They aren't the most mechanically simple machines, but I like their "out of the box" ideas. The "Capelle Turbo" was a precursor to todays (weird) elongated bass drums, the saddle seat and drummers gloves (?) too apparently were invented by mr. Capelle. The soft gum rubber on the bottom of his (double) floor tom legs is pretty neat too. Quite the inventor!

swap out a strap i guess. or curl it up by the beater? It didn't come with an extra long strap. just a possibility.

I had one of those stupid bass drum pedals for about two hours before I put the Speed King back on. It was hard to put on and set up and then the beater kept hitting me in the shin. BUT, the Orange hi-hat pedal was great. I played it for 10-15 years. Still have it and a spare. The chrome has seen better days but it is still one of the smoothest hi-hat pedals I have ever played.

Capelle makes a pedal that does not have the odd mount. It has a tongue only.It is pretty smooth and fast and $$$.V

Isn't that Jacques Capelle pedal the model which is designed to be left on the bass drum attached to both top and bottom hoops, so that the footboard and pedal then fold up flat perpendicular with the batter head for packing and travel?
