Ill be trying to load more pics during the week. Thanks guys for your kind words. And you are right, Jeff. Im really happy w/ this set. I think in the future I'll congratulate myself for going the extra mile to get these. Im not a rich person at all. As a matter of fact I struggle economically like most people here but preserving these drums for future generations is one of my reasons to live. Music and my family are the other two. Cheers!

Don't think I've ever seen any Asbas up close like this; I agree with what's been said--these are beautifully designed & built, with a very distinctive style. I wonder if these drums are the vision of one person; do you know the company history?

Their look is very continental, with an appearance that reminds me of the flowing lines of French Arte Deco design. Their SS shells go well with the chrome (?) hardware, but I'd bet they'd look killer in a classy BDP or Silver Sparkle (the "other S.S.").

My Asba Caroline is my regular gigging pedal. has been a favorite since I first got it, but I'll appreciate it in a new way now that I see some of its design shared with such a great drumset. Very cool, Vin. Glad for you....marko

I look at it like this....

Say you have worked at a auto repair shop for 40 years....day after day...Ford/Dodge/Plymouths/Chevy's come in..yawn.....ZZzZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Then, one day...a guy drives in with a Mercedes that needs work.....Schwing!

Then,a week later,he drives in with a Jag....

Next week...a Rolls....

You get the idea...you would be like...how could I be so blind?

Vinny congrats these look wonderful~! Do you know what year they are? I've not seen many ASBA drums and none before yours in chrome finish! Would these be 70's like when Ludwig and Slingerland did them?

Glenn.

ASBAs are rare in Europe as well. A buddy of mine had a brown, transparent acrylic kit back in the day but that is the only one I've come across. Good quality stuff, congratulations!

I understand these are 1971 but since theres no serial no on any of the drums Im just playing by ear here. I have a 1971 European magazine were this drum is presented but I understand the prototype was as early as 69 so its hard to know at this point. Maybe our european fellows can lend a hand dating the set?
