What did you buy at the 2014 Chicago show? Last viewed: 19 hours ago

Hey guys it's always fun to share what you bought with those with a common interest. I'll start.

I bought this 20" WFL virgin bass drum. Not even drilled for legs. It's super nice! Very "mellowed" as you can see. Has a calf skin on the batter side but it has a tiny hole right where the beater would hit. Very happy with this. I got this for a project but the more I thought about it on the way home I think I'll leave it be and see what's out there for matching orphans.

I also bought a ludwig case for a supra that didn't have one so I had a good show.

Let's see what you got!

Bought a real nice 14x20 blue sparkle 60's Ludwig bass drum at a good price. Couple of books and magazines, a T-shirt, some parts. Clinics were awesome. I had a good time.

I got a 4x14 late 20s-early 30s Leedy Gold Sparkle first generation Broadway Dual...needs a little work but everything is there. I also got a 1930s 5x14 Slingerland nob RK, I have a 6.5x14 nob RK so this finishes out the set.

It was a great Show! The highlight of my year. It was great seeing everyone.

I got a well-keyholed 15" Zildjian at 1070g to pair with a lonely 861g top for $25, a fistful of random Gretsch parts, and a hotdog. Met a couple of people I'd only internet-known before. And the guys at Drugan's were super-cool and gave me a beer.

I bought a 70s Pearl Steel Shell snare from one of my favorite youtube personality's, Bonzoleum himself.(AKA Terry Keating) I Didn't really need it but the deal was too good to pass up. I didn't really go there the intention of spending a bunch of money and getting a big haul. I was just happy checking out the clinics and looking around to see some pretty cool gear.

I picked up a couple of NOS Camco items, a model 900 hi hat stand and snare stand that had come from the Faust Music inventory. Also a three tom Camco bass drum mount from Bob(Cruzin)

A nice Rogers swan leg one piece foot board hi hat.

Also picked up a neat Blue Satin Flame Slingy 20, 12, 16 with matching snare. It was a love buy as that was what my very first kit was back in 1964. Has most of the original heads top and bottom.

And ordered up my Blaemire snare to match a kit which should be done shortly.

Spent some time visiting with Greg and David from Jenkins Martin. They had a nice display and the drums sounded "killer", with looks to match. They have come up with some real innovative colors etc.

And finally got to meet Mark Cooper and his tumbler use really shows on the kits and snares he had on display. And Joe Luoma was a riot as he normally is.

Had a great time and there were some awesome items there.

My haul consisted of some T-shirts and a bag of four of the early 1960s style floor tom / cymbal mounts shown in the attached borrowed picture. They were marked $5 each, so I bought them all. Two or three have the original wing screw. Bun E Carlos was kind enough to sign a drumhead that I bought at the Ludwig booth. I wanted several other things, but resisted due to space constraints.

I also went to my first Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Got a nice "Calling His Shot" Babe Ruth commemerative bobble head. Yes, he was a Yankee at the time, but the game happened at Wrigley. I also met forum members in the flesh and enjoyed hanging out with a few Saturday night.

Fun weekend.

Edit - I also found a Ludwig Standard high hat stand for a friend.

Not to hijack the intent of this thread...your mounts look just like the ones on a Star kit I recently acquired. However I've been told they are not correct for my Star kit. Not sure what they are.
