What did you regret selling? Last viewed: 4 minutes ago

Bought a mixed brand kit of white marine pearl wrap in 2001. got a 41 ludwig snare, 49 leedy bass, and MIJ toms. Kit came with 1940's ludwig bass drum pedal, wood block, cowbells, and a 50s ludwig speed king pedal, cases.... AND all Zildjian cymbals from about the late 40s.. Anyhow, bought the whole deal for $600 bucks. I didnt have the cash with me the day i went to look at them with a friend. He had the cash but knew i really wanted the set....

I ended up selling him the Zildjians for $300..crash, ride, hats. he needed cymbals.. i already had cymbals... To make myself feel better about the transaction, I just thought, he could have bought the whole thing the first day we went to see the set!!

From lucky

66 pink Slingerlands

I regret not buying those when I had the chance. kick kick kick

Selling regrets ???

None, really. I miss a few cymbals, but I have so many nice ones that I don't have 'regrets'.

I do miss a kit or two, but ... again ... I have some nice ones that I really don't 'regret' selling.

I have been so blessed to have had many many nice kits and cymbals to share time with. I would be a fool to regret parting with them.

Havent seen another one like it.

I also regret selling my vintage 14" Zildjian Hats...60's stamp. Granted I've bought another set and they are sweet but the first ones....

From Rik_Everglade

I recently sold my cherished '66 Leedy red ripple to another person on this site. I regret this even more since my wife has spent the money and all I got was...well, I didn't get anything; I lost my drums!

I know how you feel.My first wife and my future mother in law, convinced me to sell my 66 Ludwig hollywood kit,and my 71 standards both in blue sparkle with all my hardware and cymbals. All because we could pay off all of our bills, and start out marrage debt free, and have money in the bank.DOH

All of them!

Drouyn blue ripple - traded for

Premier 2000 kit in red - best finished kit ever

Pearl 1982 BLX - had to give them back to get my GLX's so, ok

Sonor Rosewood 5 3/4" snare from the 70's - now worth an arm and a leg

Sonor Mag 5 3/4" ditto

Paiste 602 set 14/16/18/18 SC china, at least I have another set

Ludwig HH BB 6 1/2 1980 - idiot

Ludwig Super Classics SBP even though they sounded ok, not incredible

Rogers Fullerton resto 8/10/12/16/20 - miss those little toms amazing recording kit

The one that annoys me is the Sonor Rosewood, cause the guy who has it doesn't play it; it has rust on the throw.

And I sold a Steinberg Midex midi controller because they discontinued it so there were no drivers for my new studio PC. It cost $1000. I got $80. Two weeks after I sold it, they released windows 7 drivers. Now I have a piece of crap MIDIMan and every time it delays whilst someone is tracking keyboards, I growl.

Thanks - I feel better now!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Any of these three. The Slingerlands and the Ayottes both were 24" bass drums. I love the sound, and hate dealing with them. I sold the pre-serial Ludwigs to buy the Ayottes. The Ludwigs were probably the best of the three. Amazing bass drum, clean, and great chrome.

I sold 5 snare drums to a local drum shop a year ago to help pay for a new drum kit. Everytime I went in there I kept seeing my old Premier Signia snare. Lucky for me nobody wanted to buy it. I regreted selling it. Finally a few weeks ago I bought it back.....it was on sale - and I got it for less than what I sold it for. I gotta learn to let go better than that hu.
