No, didn't know the guy..I had just moved in my house..and he was gone 6 months later..the wife is super friendly..Id wave at him..and get no reaction..so I stopped.

Been doing research...on ebay and youtube...seems they are early mid 60's. I found exactly what a needed to mount the tom. A vintage early 60 Ludwig Consolette mount. Found ebay yesterday. $35 I won the auction.

Start this project on the holiday tomorrow. Layers of dust and cobwebs..bring it back to life!

This is some great stuff. Sometimes I daydream that something like this hapens to me. Carefully restore them and then just enjoy! And educate your wife - she's missing out on a lot of beauty from better times.

Looks like it might be a single tension bass like from the Spotlight Outfit (early 60s). Can't see the top of the bass to know for sure. Is there a tom mount on the bass?

Good catch. No lug inserts, so the t-rods just pass through the casings.
