Jeff C.- thanks so much for starting this great thread as it gives us all a little chance at letting our VDF bros. know abit more about our connection to each other and we all do have that common denominator(drums forever!).Also want to say how very well you summed up your feelings about the forum and the rest of us guys that still live to boogie on a drum set. We`re all a kinda` family here and we are so glad you are a part of it.So keep that drum fire alive and enjoy all it has to offer...

I would love to see you guys do the Superbowl. The last ten years have been like so non entertaining. Except when Ozzy did the Patriots Superbowl. Al would rule and set a new trend for halftime.

I record and tour with Al, primarily North America with occasional ventures to OZ. We did 4 dates in the UK and a gig in Amsterdam a few years ago, but I think the Int'l options will expand for us in 2015 (there's nothing like a #1 album to grab people's attention!)I also play and sub in several bands in L.A., which brings in the usual few dollars between tours, but mostly serves to satisfy my love to drum. And I collect, but have become more selective in the last several years about acquisitions. An item has to either be particularly collectible, or usable. I try not to get things just to have them, unless they come at a price that I can't refuse. There have been some drums and cymbals that were gifts, and I cherish those most of all.Bermuda
Where can I check out Al? I checked that on youtube and Weird Al Yankovic came up!

I used to play semi-professionally, if heavy metal qualifies as professional.
I was just playing saxophone in the local banjo band until they pointed out that my saxophone wasn't a banjo.

Cool thread!
My story is I started learning drums at 8 years old, now 57 and still learning.
Played semi professional in Sydney from 78 to 81, then had a 16 year
hiatus from playing. Then my wife conned me into getting the sticks back
out for a birthday party.Currently playing in a funk/blues band and
occasionally filling for a rock band. I love it and the best part is I'm
still learning after all these years!
