Condition & what you get makes 4k reasonable enough. Of course drummers want $h!t for nothing. Ask yourself what this kit would cost new, today. And then ask yourself how much of the desire to own it is because it's vintage. If you're a vintage dude then the answer should be easy.

Yeah, I'm always skeptical when I see Rogers drums at a much higher than average price, but after seeing what's included, $4k doesn't seem unreasonable. All original stands, pedals, throne, Rogers cymbals, original heads...and a COB Dyna-Sonic. That's about as complete a Rogers outfit as you can get.

One must consider comps. I searched the internet and couldn't find a comparable kit in factory boxes, with factory cymbals and hardware.

Quite frankly, $4000 is a bargain! Perhaps waving some cash in his face would prompt negotiation.

Either way, seems like a fair asking price if you ask me.

I was just curious. I've got all the drums I need or want and am not in the market. I do agree that it will be next to never to see another set like this with everything that is included.

I guess I love the vintage drums and stands and the fact that they are in very good condition with no missing parts, etc. but I am not sentimental about original shipping boxes, heads, invoices, etc. I would neither have the room nor the inclination to keep all the peripheral stuff which seems (in my mind) to be adding quite a bit to the cost.

That looks like a very nice late 60s Rogers set. The cymbals and swan leg stands appear to be very nice, too. Maybe there will be that one person who will come up with four grand for the package. I think the seller is going to have to be very patient until that person sees the Craig's List ad. The seller is advertising Southern California priced used drums and go-withs in central Texas. If the seller is smart about it, he or she is also advertising this same package in Los Angeles and other major markets in some other advertising vehicle that Craig's List. As Indiana Jones would say: "This belongs in a museum".

Maybe it's just me...but I just don't see $4k for this kit! Am I missing something? The Rogers cymbals? It's not like they are top of the line A. Zildjians. The included boxes? The above comment says "This belongs in a museum". Why? To me this is just a Londoner kit.

It's not my nature to come off like this, but I'm still scratching my head at $4k for this kit. I'm pretty knowledgeable with Rogers drums from the 60's to mid 70's. If there is something I'm missing with this kit, please educate me!

Let's break it down, I've seen kits as nice sell for less than two grand on ebay. The hardware, maybe another $300-500.The boxes and heads, who cares. The cymbals, again, who cares, unless they were vintage Zildjian or Paiste. I think the seller is a dreamer or he doesn't really want to sell the kit.

Yes, the cymbals are not top-o-the-line. But the boxes, for a collector, will matter. Kit = MINIMUM 2k MEDIAN 2.5k TOP 3k (has the snare); swan leg stands / throne = $750; cymbals = $400. Condition???

Is seller going to fetch this? No. No. And, no. It's bloody CL. But ... a very particular buyer will bat within the ballpark and take home.

I think a buyer would be an a$$hole to offer 2.5k. 3k seems reasonable enough - as in, "They're yours. I want these out of my great room."

See, I think 2.5k is a pretty reasonable offer. By no means did I think the seller will fetch $4k, but felt it's a somewhat reasonable ask given all that's included. It may be "just a Londoner" but its one of the nicest and most complete Londoners I've seen. I think it'll go for around $3k.

The staging could use some work, however.
