What is this hole for? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Julia,

If you get the key holder, send me a PM. I have a couple Gretsch keys laying around, and I'll be happy to drop one in the mail to you.

As far as glueing the loose seam down, there's several threads in the Restoring section on this. My personal preference is 3M Contact Cement. Apply a thin layer to both the wrap and the shell, wait 20 minutes, then clamp down overnight. Simple. Others may give you their preferred method.

Oh, and NICE drum!!

I (actually my dad) got the wrap fixed but the strainer doesn't move the snare up and down. Can these be fixed? I'm trying to decide if I want to keep it, but I can't get it to a point where I can play it to hear it. Ugh.

Julia that's a very good drum, and you paid very little for it. It's worth buying a authentic strainer for it, if it's broken. For me it's easier to replace faulty strainers rather than try to repair one. But it depends on what's wrong with it. It might be something simple. Can you post an up-close pic of the strainer? Someone around here just might have one or can suggest a fix.

Good luck.
