I know zero about Ludwigs. A guy has these listed at $400 for both. I really, really, really don't need another set of drums. Are these of any value? Are those black ones 90's Rockers? The swirls maybe 70s Standards? Thanks.

Swirls are Standards! Nab em
1964 Ludwig Downbeat Kit Champagne Sparkle
1964 Ludwig Jazz Combo Kit Gold Sparkle
1964 Gretsch Jazz Progressive Jazz Progressive Kit
1965 Ludwig Club Date Kit BDP
1971 Slingerland 13,16,22 in Black Sparkle
1979 Rogers XP-8 Super Londoner Tobacco Sunburst
1982 Rogers XP-8 Black Londoner
Numerous Snare Drums
Yeah the kit in the back looks to be Ludwig Standards with classic lugs so, if not in trashed condition, they'd be well worth the $400 by themselves. The other kit looks like it is a Rocker but depending on what era they are they can be pretty decent too. I'd be jumping on these a.s.a.p. for $400.
Hi There....For $400 get on it and buy them what can you possibly loose. Give em a good checking out. They look in good shape where i am looking. cheers...sean
Jump all over them ! The Standard kit in the back is worth that much on its own.
Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit
A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl

GO, GO, GO AND GET 'EM ! There's at least $1100 in drums there..
If the Ruby Standards are in good shape and just need a cleaning, then they'll clean up nicely
and will be worth at least $900..The Rockers are 4 ply and 6 ply kick drum..
Power toms aren't really desirable, but you can always resell the Rocker kit..
If it were me, i'd buy both, and sell the Rocker kit, and you'd end up getting a
vintage Ludwig Standard almost for free !
I was gonna say I'd be all over that Standard kit like Red on Strata. I paid 800 u.s. for mine, yeah I may have overpaid, but whatever. Grab them! Let us know what you do.

a few snares ...
Brought the Standards home. The guy ended up being a bit of a douchbag. Drums are filthy and well used. Missing a spur. No heads to speak of. Bass has a bit of chip/dent on a bearing edge. I have not had the time to check all of the others. Wrap is faded but mostly intact as far as I have been able to see. The wrap on the 13" is cracked up around one lug. A small crack in the 12" shell that doesn't look like it is too bad, but not unimportant. Lugs all look okay. Rims are questionable. Bass rims are banged up. Serial numbers suggest that they all are probably originally form one set all in the 86379 through 86400 range. Got a few crappy old flat base Ludwig stands and a 6 1/2 x 14 COW Rocker Snare. A speedking was supposed to go with, but as I said the guy was a bit of a doiuchbag and he changed his mind.
Did not buy the other set because 1. The guy was a bit of a douchbag 2. I'm in Montana and the market out here is pretty much non existent for used drums. 3. I already have 4 other sets and I'm just a dumb guitar player.
Might clean up. We shall see. I need a better look. Oh, yeah. $100, so I think I won't loose anything on them. My other drums are fiberglass or phenolic, so I get to play WOOD drums when these are cleaned up. lol Thanks everybody who replied! I appreciate the use of your brains.
