SORRY GUYS N'GALS

I guess this should be in the Non USA Forum section.

Maybe an Administrator could move it ?

Gary

I picked these up at a secondhand store yesterday. I don't know much about Pearl drums (year/model etc.). I bought them because the finish looks good and I like the sizes....20bd/12 tom/14 floor tom and I'm guessing 5.5 (haven't measured it yet) snare. It came with one very beat up cymbal. It has grooving on it but not a mark to say what it is. Believe it or not....it doesn't sound all that bad. It has some sustain....dark...trashy with medium to quick decay. I'm using it right now with my late 50's Gretsch kit...just checking it out ....and I like it. Maybe Mr. Watts would be interested???Kidding. I'm looking forward to cleaning the drums up. I paid $100 for them, a CB snare stand and a Tama cymbal stand. The bass drum is missing the cymbal arm. The snare drum came without snare wires. No hihat stand.

From Kona

The bass drum is missing the cymbal arm.

Somewhere there is a giant pile of those things eh? :)

There's nothing quite like a pretty cool set of drums for one hundred bucks. All fun, no worries...have fun!

What about this badge ? These drums were sold both in the USA and Japan . I'm looking at a kit now for $ 100 : WMP 20/14/12 & matching snare .

Can't help with the badge, but those rims with the tight, rounded ears [that's what you call where the rod goes through, right?], are top notch MIJ equipment. Bit of a Rogers copy, nice tall top flange and very solid. This speaks to the rest of the hardware on the kit - worth $100.00 for sure!

[edit] I'm speaking of the drum with the red Valencia badge that jazzbo posted.

[edit 2] Gary's kit has them too! :)

Nice find Jazzbo!

I just got some information from the Pearl Drum Forum stating that my drums are probably late 60's.....68-69....Valencia Series. Again....I like the smaller sizes = 20bd/12&14 toms.
