Not drum-related, but I bought a fully functional Wurlitzer 200A keyboard at the Salvation Army for $25. The sound of the Seventies! A few year later, I sold it on Craigslist for $1,300.
Hell ya. We can open it up to non drum stuff. My other best was actually a trade. I had a 1977 Londoner 7 (minus snare) on local Craigslist for $500 and was willing to take $400. As good as the drums sounded and as good as the condition was, I just could not get over the white cortex wrap. Someone local called and offered me a trade that I could not refuse. He offered a 1970 Ludwig Black diamond Pearl four piece in near mint shape as an even trade. I did the right thing and told him that the trade was not fair, but, I was not in a position to offer him additional money for the kit. He wanted the kit so bad (he said it was just like his first kit) that he did the even trade. I did not feel guilty as I made him aware. Anyway, I sold that kit about two years ago for $1200.
I bought a really decent 79/80 acro for 7.50$ at a goodwill once..
I also bought a blaemire snare for 50$

My father and I when i was in high school 20 years ago used to go to guitar center and look around for old stuff. He found a dusty ludwig kit in white formica. We left because they didn't want to sell the kit for the price he offered. We came back a few days later and it was still there. Took it home for a 100$. Got it home and pulled the white off. Psychedelic red in fantastic shape covered and protected all these years with no fade underneath. 1968s The only thing missing was the badges.
