And yes, I did have a very bad deal with Mikey. It cost me a near perfect 1960 gold sparkle Slingerland snare with wood hoops.

But, the thing is, I chose to admit I made a bad choice in dealing with him. The responsibility lay on me and me alone. I learned a lesson. I moved on.[/QUOTE]

Can I ask how much actual cash did you lose?

People keep going on about how much Mikey knows about vintage drums...like he is the only one on here like that..

What is there..prolly 100-200+ people who have forgot more about vintage drums then some people know on here?

There's the truth of it.

I have tried not to weigh in too much on this because the whole thing makes me a bit sick so here's the bottom line people.

Yes, you should do your homework on people you are going to do transactions with BUT...............

...at somje point, you have to TRUST that the person you are dealing with is honorable.

Mikey777 IS NOT, as evidenced by the plethora of unsatisfied people that have come forward with complaints.

I am positive that he has seen all this and has chosen not to address any of this.

Silence of the guilty.

Shameful.

As is the excuses made for his terrible business practices and lack of honesty.

It doesn't matter if he knows more about drums than anyone who ever lived, he's a snake in the grass.

Although they bear some responsibility for them own actions, you cannot lay blame on the victim for the sellers dishonesty and shabby business practices..

This will be the last I will comment on this, because to be honest, the entire episode has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Seems like these issues with Mikey are ripe for legal action, no? People have that choice you know. It's a shame.

I think it was asked earlier in the thread but, why doesn't someone go visit him and find out what is going on?

Usually it doesn't take this long for him to reply to a thread, respond to PM's or ship orders. I'm wondering if there is some other issue (medical/legal/technology) that is preventing him from communicating.

Even though past performance doesn't help the current situation, maybe there is a legitimate reason for the delay this time and I know this doesn't help those that are out some money/goods this time either. BTW, I'm one waiting for a part too, but I've also ordered from him in the past and without issue.

I believe that one day we will finally find out what iin the world is going on with him - way back there in April 2013.

Wouldn't you all feel bad if he were in the hospital klinging to life on life support or something?

Or perhaps he is wrongly accused of something and sitting helplessly in jail.

He DID post on here that he was in the middle of a move. Perhaps something really got messed up with that and he is trying to solve some problems to merely have somewhere to sleep at night.

Mikey has had problems with his business before - I will admit that. At the same time, he has never taken this long to defend himself on here. There has got to be some explanation.

Mikey lives in Orange County. Would someone please take a drive to his place (new place, old place, warehouse, etc etc.) and try to find him. OR perhaps someone knows a close friend of his or a relative or something. I used to live there and OCD&P used to be right there on....I think it was Edinger or McFadden Ave NW of the 55.

I also recall that he works for the city or county or something like that.

Point is....there has got to be some explanation....and perhaps a drummer friend of ours in is some very difficult trouble and needs our help; our prayers at least.

Someone close to him (physically/personally) please dig in and get some answers.

Concerned,

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

...yeah, illness or other problems could be the case! lets wait and see!

i don't bother if it takes him a long time, if he makes clear, that it will take

a long time bevor stuff arrives. does he have a real store and business or is it all out of his private collection?

:D

Let me add this. Its true that Mike could be having some serious issues in life that is keeping him for responding, lets pray that it is not health related. Mikey777 has told so many stories in such great detail, now, how can anyone make them up like that? He has responded to many of my threads with good advice and always seems to know what he is talking about. I hope we do hear from him but if you were him, what you do at this point? Say screw it, I have had enough?

Thank you!

Heck, I'm gonna pop some popcorn. This saga keeps getting better every day. I'm on the edge of my seat every time I see an update to this thread.

Stay tuned for another episode of As The Vintage Drum Forum Turns. :0
