Original calf heads on the big BD just sound phenomenal. The tone of these drums is so warm and full. Especially the kit with the bigger drums. Same reaction everytime, anybody that sits behind the kit immediately starts laughing before asking if they can try it out. And of course i let them. I like to hear someone else play these drums from a distance...Excellent mix of sizes.
drumfx,
I have been working on getting a marching drum kit going. Here is what I have so far.
10x14 Slingerland, 4x14 Ludwig.
Thank you!

I have this 1949 Gretsch 10x14 Parade drum. I cleaned it up a bit and I know that probably takes away from any 'vintage value' but I'm not getting rid of it......it's my birth year and I like the drum. This photo was taken a few years ago when I cleaned it up and put a few coats of Tung Oil on it. The text was taken from information that's in the Gretsch catalog back in the day.
Not mine, but currently for sale on my local classifieds for a ridiculously cheap price !!
Both made in Montreal and Toronto..
One of my "oldies". It's a J.W. York & Sons kit.
Thank you!
